Putting myself first

To my budding GenZs’ ready to discover the world

Once upon a time an 18 year old-my child, told me that she is “putting herself first”. This statement came of course in the moment when she did not agree to our counsel. She was so ready to exercise freedom and jump right into adulthood. I wish someone could tell her that adulthood is a scam.

I recently ran into this quote in the internet and I love it but from my deepest guts, I’m quite sure that there is a very thin line between putting oneself first and selfishness.

However, with my growth mindset, I am always challenged to find deeper meaning to things and even though I very much agree with “putting oneself first” l thought to pen down my thoughts to my budding Gen Zs’ (I have 3 of them) …
